Tori Lanterman (program assistant) has been working with Oakland Food Connection as the Programs Coordinator Intern since June 2008. She is currently finishing up her undergraduate degree in Community Studies at UC Santa Cruz and graduated from UC Santa Cruz in March 2009.
Since starting at Oakland Food Connection, Tori has been involved in starting the new Oakland Community Farmers' Market in the Laurel district of East Oakland, working with youth participants through OFC's summer internship gardening and nutrition programs and doing outreach at events around the city of Oakland to get the word out about OFC.
"Working at Oakland Food Connection has been an overall life changing experience for me. I feel very lucky to be part of an organization that is having and will continue to have a lasting effect on the health and well-being of the people of Oakland. Along with the skills I have learned at OFC, I am very grateful for the relationships I have built and the sense of community that is such a big part of what OFC does. As a community, we are in a time of change and I look forward to being with Oakland Food Connection during that movement forward."
