A City of Villages : April Events and Goings On!
Tori
at Oakland Food Connection
Hello friends and supporters of Oakland Food Connection!
First of all, I would like to say that I am so glad to be back at OFC, I have officially graduated from college and now I will be able to again devote more effort to OFC and our programs.
April is going to be a JAM PACKED month for us here at OFC. As a small non-profit organization, we rely on community support and involvement, so if you are interested in any of the events mentioned, contact us and sign up today!
THIS Saturday, APRIL 4th
The Oakland Community Farmers' Market welcomes back Bumpity Thump! Bumpity Thump is an Oakland based youth drumming group that will be performing at the market this week from 11am-1pm and really bringing the jams! Come by this weekend to check them out, as well as J&P organic produce, Biscotti di Bianchi and the youth-run Purple Lawn Cafe!
The Oakland Community Farmers' Market is located in the Laurel District of East Oakland in the parking lot of the Laurel Office Center at 4173 Macarthur Blvd. The market is held Saturdays YEAR ROUND from 10am-2pm. Come by and see us!
Also, this Saturday, April 4th, we will be having a "know your small farmer" day and taking a group of dedicated individuals to visit (and work!) at Good Foot Farms in Livingston, CA.
Update: Unfortunately the trip this week has been filled but we will be scheduling upcoming trips as well and we will have 12 spots available for each visit so let us know if you would like to attend a
future farm day. To RSVP to future farm days, email us at info@foodcommunityculture.org
