Healthy Food for All!
Greetings friends and supporters of Oakland Food Connection!
What a productive summer we've had here at OFC! We've been hard at work opening the Oakland Community Farmers Market in the Laurel district of East Oakland, starting up at our backyard garden space, catering for different organizations and events around the East Bay area and working with youth from EC Reems Academy and Unity High School through our summer program at EC Reems.
Our set of programs is known as the "Healthy Food for All" campaign. This summer, we've narrowed our focus to strengthen and expand our already existing programs while incorporating new endeavors. Now the seeds have been planted and we are very excited to see how they will grow this upcoming fall and beyond.
Starting up new programs means we have tons of opportunities for involvement! Seeing that we're such a small organization, we rely on community involvement and support to sustain and develop our programs and upcoming events. Sign up today for a volunteer opportunity that speaks to you!
We are currently in the process of updating our website and creating a calendar to keep everyone informed about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. But in the mean time, here are a few key dates to keep in mind for the next couple of months:
